Schedule social posts from Gemini CLI

Gemini CLI is Google's terminal agent. It connects to UniPost the way any HTTP MCP client does: add the server URL, sign in, and ask it to schedule.

Connect Gemini CLI in 4 steps

  1. 1

    Create a free UniPost.ai account and connect a social account. Takes about a minute.

  2. 2

    Add UniPost in ~/.gemini/settings.json as a streamable HTTP MCP server, or with gemini mcp add:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "unipost": {
          "httpUrl": "https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp"
        }
      }
    }

    # or:
    gemini mcp add --transport http unipost https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp
  3. 3

    Sign in to UniPost in the browser window that opens, choose the workspace the agent may use, and select Allow. Only workspace owners and admins can authorize agents. If Gemini CLI can't finish the sign-in, create a key under API keys and send it as a bearer credential.

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "unipost": {
          "httpUrl": "https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp",
          "headers": {
            "Authorization": "Bearer <your-api-key>"
          }
        }
      }
    }
  4. 4

    Ask it to list your accounts, then to prepare a post. It returns an approval link; approve in the chat, through the link, or under Overview → Needs attention.

    > List the social accounts in this workspace.
    > Prepare a post for tomorrow at 9 a.m. in my timezone. Show me the full text and destination accounts before you publish it.

What Gemini CLI can do with UniPost

  • Schedule posts to LinkedIn profiles, X, and TikTok, with Facebook Pages and YouTube in beta.
  • Hold every post it schedules until you approve it in the chat, through the approval link, or in the dashboard.
  • Read views, likes, comments, and shares for published posts where the network reports them.
  • Check your remaining X credits before it posts there.
