Guide
How to schedule LinkedIn posts (and when LinkedIn's own scheduler isn't enough)
LinkedIn has a scheduler built into its post composer. You can schedule a profile post from 10 minutes to 3 months ahead, or a company Page post from 1 hour to 3 months ahead. This guide walks through the steps on desktop and mobile, how to find and change scheduled posts, what the built-in scheduler can't do, and how to have an AI agent like Claude schedule posts for your approval.
Can you schedule LinkedIn posts?
Yes, in three ways:
- LinkedIn's own scheduler. It's built into the post composer on desktop and in the mobile app, for profiles and company Pages.
- A scheduling tool. Tools such as UniPost connect to your LinkedIn account and publish at the time you pick. You can also post to other networks from the same place.
- An AI agent. Claude, ChatGPT, and other agents can schedule LinkedIn posts once they're connected to an MCP server that can publish. With UniPost, every post your agent schedules stays pending until it's approved.
How to schedule a LinkedIn post on desktop and mobile
On desktop:
- 1
Click Start a post at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
- 2
Write your post.
- 3
Click the clock icon in the lower-right corner.
- 4
Pick a date and time. The dropdown moves in 30-minute steps, but you can type an exact time.
- 5
Click Next. The scheduled time shows above the post.
- 6
Click Schedule.
In the mobile app:
- 1
Tap Post in the navigation bar.
- 2
Write your post.
- 3
Tap the clock icon in the upper-right corner.
- 4
Pick a date and time, then tap Next.
- 5
Tap Schedule.
On both, LinkedIn converts the time to UTC using your device's time zone. To post right away instead, tap or click Edit next to the time, clear it, and choose Post.
How to schedule a post on a LinkedIn company Page
You need to be a super admin or content admin of the Page.
- Go to the Page's admin view and click Page posts in the left menu. On mobile, tap Dashboard and choose Page posts.
- Click Start a post (tap Post on mobile).
- Click the clock icon.
- Pick a date and time. The time is based on your location.
- Click Next, finish the post, and click Schedule.
You can schedule a Page post from 1 hour to 3 months ahead. Pages can't schedule events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs, or service posts.
UniPost doesn't post to company Pages yet. They're coming soon. For Pages today, use LinkedIn's own scheduler.
Where to find, edit, or cancel scheduled LinkedIn posts
When you have scheduled posts, a badge on the clock icon in the composer shows how many.
- Click Start a post (tap Post on mobile).
- Click the clock icon.
- Click View all scheduled posts (tap View all on mobile).
On the Scheduled posts page:
- To change the time or the text, click the More icon on the post, then Modify schedule or Edit post.
- To cancel it, click the Delete icon and confirm.
What LinkedIn's scheduler can't do
- Schedule more than 3 months ahead. Profile posts can go from 10 minutes to 3 months out.
- Schedule events or jobs from a profile.
- Take posts from outside tools. You schedule each post by hand in LinkedIn's composer. Scheduling tools and AI agents can't add posts to that queue; they publish at the scheduled time through their own systems.
LinkedIn scheduling not working?
Check these first:
- The time is outside the window. A profile post needs to be at least 10 minutes out and a Page post at least 1 hour out. Neither can go past 3 months.
- The post type can't be scheduled. Profiles can't schedule events or jobs. Pages can't schedule events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs, or service posts.
- You aren't a Page admin. Only super admins and content admins can schedule Page posts.
- The time looks wrong. LinkedIn converts your time to UTC using your device's time zone, so a device set to the wrong zone shifts the post.
How to schedule LinkedIn posts for free
LinkedIn's own scheduler comes with LinkedIn, with no extra charge.
UniPost gives you 2 connected accounts free, with no credit card. A LinkedIn profile is one account, so you can schedule to your profile and one more account, such as X, without paying. To schedule from the dashboard:
- Create a free UniPost account and connect your LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn's own sign-in page asks you to allow posting; UniPost never sees your password.
- Choose Create post, select your LinkedIn profile, and write the post. You can add up to 9 images, or one video.
- Pick a time at least 15 minutes from now and choose Schedule post, or choose Post now.
After the free accounts: The first 2 are free, then $3, $1, and $0.50 each as you add more. See /pricing.
Schedule LinkedIn posts from Claude or another AI agent
An agent can't reach LinkedIn on its own. Connect it to an MCP server that can publish, and it can write the post and schedule it too. UniPost is one such server. Others exist, including Schedule & Chill, whose LinkedIn page says its MCP server works with Claude Desktop and Claude Code.
With UniPost:
- Connect your LinkedIn profile to UniPost, then add UniPost to your agent: /agents/claude, /agents/chatgpt, /agents/grok-bot, /agents/cursor.
- Ask: "Turn these notes into a LinkedIn post for Thursday at 8 a.m. Show it to me before you schedule it."
- The agent schedules the post, up to a year ahead. Every post your agent schedules stays pending until it's approved. You can approve it in three ways: the approval link, the dashboard, or your agent.
- Once approved, the post goes out at the time you set, or right away if that time has passed.
Your agent can approve a post it scheduled for you, so tell it to show you the full text, images, and time first. UniPost's server instructions tell agents never to approve a post you haven't seen and agreed to. If a teammate's agent created the post, your agent can't approve it; it has to be approved through the link. How approval works: /docs/publishing/schedule-and-approve. Full setup: /docs/mcp. LinkedIn MCP server: /mcp/linkedin.

Choosing a LinkedIn scheduler
Check five things before you pick one:
- Profiles vs Pages. Make sure the tool posts where you need to. LinkedIn's own scheduler does both. UniPost doesn't post to company Pages yet. They're coming soon. Schedule & Chill also posts to profiles only for now: its page says company Pages are "not yet" available. PostOnce says its agent can post to company pages you admin.
- Media types. UniPost posts text, up to 9 images, or one video, and doesn't post PDF documents, polls, or articles. Schedule & Chill and Blotato both list PDF document posts on their pages. Pages can't schedule multiple photos in LinkedIn's own scheduler.
- Approvals. If an agent or a teammate drafts the posts, check whether anything holds a post until someone approves it. With UniPost: Every post your agent schedules stays pending until it's approved. Liftli's page says "nothing ships until you approve it." Blotato's example prompt asks Claude to "publish it now."
- Analytics. UniPost doesn't show LinkedIn analytics, because LinkedIn doesn't report post views, likes, comments, or shares to it. Outstand lists LinkedIn post analytics as a tool. If you need numbers for each post, check the tool's LinkedIn page before you sign up.
- Price per account. Some tools charge by plan and some by account. UniPost has no plans: The first 2 are free, then $3, $1, and $0.50 each as you add more.
To compare UniPost with the larger schedulers: /vs/buffer and /vs/hootsuite.
