Schedule and approve posts
Check the text, media, destination accounts, and timezone before authorizing a post. A post sent to several accounts creates a group of destination posts, each with its own publishing result.
From the dashboard
Choose Create post, select your accounts, write the post, and add supported media. Select Schedule post for a future time or Post now for immediate publishing.
Dashboard scheduling requires a time at least 15 minutes ahead. Check the timezone picker before saving. Clicking either publishing button authorizes that dashboard post; it does not wait for the agent approval step described below.
Use Calendar to review your schedule and Overview to check posts needing attention.
From an agent
The agent calls schedule_post with account IDs, text, a timezone-aware time, and any public HTTPS media links. UniPost creates the group as pending_approval and returns an approval link.
Review the draft and approve it in one of these ways:
- Tell your agent to publish the reviewed post. It can call
approve_postfor posts created by your own agents. - Open the returned approval link and review it in UniPost.
- Approve it from Overview → Needs attention.
Approval applies to the group of destinations, not just the single post ID used to identify it. If another person's agent created the post, approve it in UniPost through the approval link. Posts that include TikTok also require the UniPost approval screen to choose TikTok's settings.
An approved post publishes at its scheduled time. If that time has passed, UniPost submits it for publishing immediately. The scheduled publisher checks due posts every minute, so the scheduled time is not a guarantee of an exact second of delivery.
Ask your agent to show the complete text, media, destination accounts, and time before calling approve_post. Connecting an agent gives it write tools; UniPost cannot infer your intent from a conversation it cannot see.
Understand the status
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
pending_approval | An agent-created post is waiting for approval | Review and approve, or cancel it |
scheduled | Authorized and waiting for its publishing time | Check its time and connections |
publishing | A publishing attempt is in progress | Wait and check the result before retrying |
posted | Published successfully | Open the post URL when provided |
failed | The attempt failed | Read the error and fix the cause |
Approval is not proof of publication. For an agent, use list_posts to confirm each destination's result. If one destination fails, other destinations may already have succeeded; check the group before retrying to avoid duplicates.
Cancel a post
An agent can call cancel_post for an unpublished group in pending_approval, scheduled, or failed. This deletes the eligible posts in that group.
Posts already publishing or published cannot be canceled with this tool. Manage an already published post on the social platform itself.
See media and usage limits and troubleshooting if a post cannot be scheduled or published.
