How to schedule social media posts from Claude or ChatGPT

Claude and ChatGPT can't post to social media on their own. Connect either one to a scheduler's MCP server, such as UniPost, and it can write a post, pick the account, and schedule it for the time you ask. Setup takes about a minute, and UniPost's first 2 accounts are free.

Can Claude or ChatGPT schedule social media posts?

Yes, once you connect them to a scheduler. On their own, neither can sign in to your LinkedIn or X account, so neither can publish there.

The connection is an MCP server: a connector that gives the assistant tools like list my accounts, schedule a post, and cancel a post. You need three things:

  • An assistant that supports MCP connectors. Claude does on web, desktop, and mobile, and ChatGPT does through a custom app. So do Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other agents.
  • A scheduler with an MCP server that publishes. Check that it can schedule and post, not only write drafts.
  • Your social accounts connected to that scheduler. You connect each one once, through the network's own sign-in page.

How to schedule posts from Claude or ChatGPT, step by step

In Claude (web, desktop, or mobile):

  1. 1

Create a free UniPost.ai account and connect a social account. Takes about a minute.

  2. 2

Open UniPost in Claude's connector directory and select Connect. Or add it under Customize → Connectors as a custom connector with this server URL: https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp

  3. 3

Sign in to UniPost in the browser window that opens, choose the workspace the agent may use, and select Allow. Only workspace owners and admins can authorize agents.

  4. 4

Ask Claude to list your accounts, then to schedule a post: "Prepare a post for tomorrow at 9 a.m. in my timezone. Show me the full text and destination accounts before you publish it."

In ChatGPT:

  1. 1

Create a free UniPost.ai account and connect a social account. Takes about a minute.

  2. 2

If you don't see an option to create an app, turn on developer mode under Settings → Apps → Advanced settings. Then create a custom MCP app with OAuth sign-in and this server URL: https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp

  3. 3

Sign in to UniPost in the browser window that opens, choose the workspace the agent may use, and select Allow. Only workspace owners and admins can authorize agents.

  4. 4

Ask ChatGPT to list your accounts, then to schedule a post: "Prepare a post for tomorrow at 9 a.m. in my timezone. Show me the full text and destination accounts before you publish it."

Other agents use the same server URL. Setup for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok Bot, and Gemini CLI is at /agents.

Prompts to try

Plain requests work. Name the account and the time zone, and ask to see the post first:

  • "List the social accounts in this workspace."
  • "Prepare a post for tomorrow at 9 a.m. in my timezone. Show me the full text and destination accounts before you publish it."
  • "Turn this blog post into a LinkedIn post and a shorter X post. Schedule both for Tuesday at 9 a.m. Eastern."
  • "What do I have scheduled for next week?"
  • "Cancel the X post scheduled for Friday."
  • "How many X credits do I have left?"
  • "How did my last five TikTok posts do?"

Which networks and posts it can schedule

UniPost posts to LinkedIn profiles, X, TikTok, and YouTube, with Facebook Pages in beta. Instagram is coming soon.

Your agent can schedule posts up to a year ahead. To add media, it passes public https links: JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP images, or MP4, MOV, or WebM video. Agents schedule single posts; to schedule an X thread, use the UniPost dashboard.

X charges for each post, so X posts use credits: 1 for a plain post and 13 for a post with a link. Free accounts get 10 a month. More on each network: /guides/schedule-x-posts and /guides/schedule-linkedin-posts.

Is it safe to connect Claude or ChatGPT to your social accounts?

You connect each social account to UniPost through the network's own sign-in page, so UniPost never sees your password. Claude and ChatGPT don't see it either. They only get UniPost's tools.

When you add the connector, you choose which UniPost workspace it may use. Only workspace owners and admins can authorize an agent.

When the agent won't schedule a post

  • It says it can't post to social media. The connector isn't added, or it isn't turned on for this chat. Check your connectors, then ask it to list your accounts. If that fails, connect it again.
  • It lists no accounts. Connect a social account in UniPost first, and check that you authorized the workspace that has it.
  • The post went to the wrong account. Ask it to list your accounts first, then name the one you want.
  • The time is off by a few hours. Say the time zone in your request, like "9 a.m. Eastern".
  • A scheduled X post failed. Usually the X credits ran out or a rate limit was hit. Credits are counted when the post publishes. Ask your agent to check get_x_allowance and list_posts.
