MCP tool reference

Connect to https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp using OAuth or an API key. Every tool operates in the workspace authorized by that connection. Discover the current schemas with your client's MCP tool discovery before making calls.

list_accounts

Lists publishable social accounts in the workspace. Takes no arguments.

Results include id, platform, username, name, profile, and needs_reconnect. Use these account IDs in schedule_post. A personal Facebook connection used to grant Page access is excluded from publishing destinations.

list_posts

Lists workspace posts in scheduled-time order, soonest first.

ParameterTypeDefaultAllowed values
statusString, optionalAll statusespending_approval, scheduled, publishing, posted, failed
limitInteger, optional201–50

Results include the post ID, group ID, content, status, scheduled and published times, destination, post URL, metrics, and error message when available. Pending posts also include approval_url.

The tool does not currently expose a pagination cursor. Check the result limit before assuming you have read every post in a workspace.

schedule_post

Creates a post group in pending_approval. It does not authorize publication. Repeating the call can create a second group; check the original result before retrying an uncertain request.

ParameterTypeRequiredRules
account_idsArray of UUID stringsYes1–10 distinct IDs from list_accounts
contentStringYes1–3,000 characters; destination platforms may allow less
scheduled_forISO 8601 date-timeYesInclude a timezone; now or later, within one year
media_urlsArray of URL stringsNoUp to 10 public HTTPS images or videos

For example, these are tool arguments, with an illustrative account ID to replace using list_accounts:

{
"account_ids": ["11111111-1111-4111-8111-111111111111"],
"content": "Our latest update is ready. Here's what we built this week.",
"scheduled_for": "2026-10-06T09:00:00-05:00"
}

UniPost downloads supported media from the supplied URLs. Authenticated downloads, local files, and private network URLs are not suitable inputs. See media limits.

The result includes an approval link. Show the user the text, destinations, media, and time before asking for authorization to publish.

approve_post

Approves the pending destination posts in a group. Requires post_id, a UUID from schedule_post or list_posts.

The post must have been created by the user associated with this agent connection. Another person's agent-created post requires the UniPost approval screen. Groups containing TikTok posts also require that screen for TikTok's settings.

If the scheduled time has passed, approval triggers an immediate publishing attempt. Otherwise, the group waits for its time. The response records approval and intended publishing time; use list_posts to verify final publication.

cancel_post

Deletes eligible unpublished posts in a group. Requires post_id, a UUID from list_posts or schedule_post.

Eligible statuses are pending_approval, scheduled, and failed. A post that is publishing or posted cannot be canceled with this tool. Deleting the group applies to its eligible destination posts, not only the ID passed in.

get_analytics

Returns available views, likes, comments, and shares totaled by platform, plus top posts by views.

ParameterTypeDefaultRange
daysInteger, optional301–365

LinkedIn profiles and X do not currently report these post metrics to UniPost. Missing values are not proof of zero engagement. See analytics.

get_x_allowance

Takes no arguments. Reports the owner's remaining monthly X credits and each connected X account's remaining hourly and daily posting allowance.

A plain X post uses 1 credit; an X post containing a link uses 13. The 2 free accounts include 10 monthly credits, while paid plans include 50 for each of the first 10 connected X accounts and 20 for each after. Each X account may post at most 10 times per hour and 25 times per day.

Check the allowance before preparing X posts and again if publication fails. These limits are enforced when posts publish, so scheduling does not reserve all future allowance. See X limits.

Calls and billing

Each tool call counts toward the owner's monthly agent allowance, shared across owned workspaces. Requests also have a workspace rate limit. See limits.

There is no MCP billing tool or UniPost MPP endpoint. Use the owner's authorized browser and the agent checkout guide to assist with a subscription.
