MCP
X (Twitter) MCP server for Claude and other AI agents
UniPost is an MCP server that posts to X. Connect your X account with X's own sign-in, add UniPost's MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client, and ask your agent to write and schedule posts. Every post your agent schedules stays pending until it's approved. X posts draw from a monthly credit allowance, and your agent can check what's left before it schedules.
The first 2 are free, then $3, $1, and $0.50 each as you add more. No credit card for the free ones.
What your agent can do on X
Your agent gets UniPost's MCP tools. On an X account, it can:
- Write a post and schedule it for any time from now up to a year ahead, with schedule_post.
- Attach up to 4 images or one video. The agent passes public https links and UniPost downloads the files.
- Post the same text to X and your other connected accounts in one call, up to 10 accounts.
- Check how many X credits are left this month, and how many more times each X account can post in the next hour and day, with get_x_allowance.
- List what's pending, scheduled, posted, or failed with list_posts, and cancel anything that hasn't published with cancel_post.
Tools it gets
UniPost posts through X's API with the access you grant when you connect: reading and writing posts, reading your profile, and uploading media. There's no scraping and no browser automation.

How approval works
When your agent calls schedule_post, UniPost saves the post as pending_approval and returns an approval link. Nothing goes to X until the post is approved.
You can approve it in three ways: the approval link, the dashboard, or your agent.
- Open the approval link, check the text, media, and time, and approve it there.
- In the UniPost dashboard, under Overview → Needs attention.
- Tell your agent to publish it, and the agent calls approve_post.
An approved post publishes at its scheduled time, or right away if that time has already passed. If you change your mind first, ask your agent to cancel it, or cancel it in the dashboard.
X credits are counted when the post publishes, not when it's scheduled or approved. If the allowance or a rate limit is used up by then, the post fails with the reason, and nothing is charged against your credits. If X rejects a post, its credits are returned.
Your agent can approve a post it scheduled for you, so tell it to show you the full text, images, and time first. UniPost's server instructions tell agents never to approve a post you haven't seen and agreed to. If a teammate's agent created the post, your agent can't approve it; it has to be approved through the link.
Posts you write yourself in the dashboard skip this step. Clicking Schedule post or Post now there counts as your approval.
How X credits work
X charges for each post, so UniPost gives every billing owner a monthly allowance of X credits. A plain post uses 1 credit. A post with a link uses 13, and any link counts, including a bare domain like example.com.
Free accounts get 10 credits a month. Once you pay for accounts, you get 50 credits for each of your first 10 connected X accounts and 20 for each one after that. Credits are shared across all your workspaces and reset on the 1st of each month (UTC).
On free accounts, that means one post with a link (13 credits) is more than the whole monthly allowance (10), so link posts need a paid account.
Each X account can post up to 10 times an hour and 25 times a day through UniPost. The count follows the X account itself, so disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't reset it.
Your agent can check all of this with get_x_allowance before it schedules. It returns the credits used and left, when they reset, and each X account's posts in the last hour and day. UniPost's server instructions also tell agents not to add links to X posts unless you ask.
Connect X to your agent in 4 steps
- 1
Create a free UniPost account and connect your X account.
Choose X under Connections. X's own sign-in page opens and asks you to let UniPost read and write posts, read your profile, and upload media for you. UniPost never sees your X password.
- 2
Add UniPost's MCP server to your agent.
The server URL is the same for every client:
https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp
- 3
Sign in and allow access.
Sign in to UniPost in the browser window that opens, choose the workspace the agent may use, and select Allow. Only workspace owners and admins can authorize agents.
- 4
Ask for your first post.
Your agent returns an approval link. Approve the post there, or in the dashboard under Overview → Needs attention.
> List the social accounts in this workspace. > Prepare a post for tomorrow at 9 a.m. in my timezone. Show me the full text and destination accounts before you publish it.
How to post to X from Claude
Claude can't post to X by itself. It needs an MCP server with a publishing tool. With UniPost connected:
- Add UniPost from Claude's connector directory, or as a custom connector with https://mcp.unipost.ai/mcp, and sign in.
- Ask Claude something like: "Write a short X post announcing our new feature for tomorrow at 10 a.m. Check my X credits first, and show me the post before you schedule it."
- Claude calls get_x_allowance to see what's left, list_accounts to find your X account, then schedule_post with the text, time, and any image links. The post is saved as pending and Claude gets an approval link.
- Read the post. Say "publish it" and Claude calls approve_post, or open the link and approve it yourself.
The post publishes at the time you set. Ask Claude "what's scheduled on X?" and it calls list_posts. Claude Code works the same way from the terminal. /agents/claude-code.

What UniPost can't do on X yet
- No X analytics. X doesn't report post views, likes, replies, or reposts to UniPost, so get_analytics has no X numbers. It does for TikTok.
- Text, up to 4 images, or one video. You can't mix a video with images.
- One post at a time. Your agent can't post threads, replies, polls, or quote posts. Each schedule_post call is one standalone post.
- UniPost doesn't check X's character limit. The agent tools accept up to 3,000 characters for any network. If a post is longer than X allows for your account, X rejects it when it's due and the post shows as failed.
- Credits run out at publish time. Scheduling doesn't reserve credits. A post that would go over the monthly allowance or a rate limit fails when it comes due, with the reason in list_posts.
- Media must be a public https link when an agent attaches it: JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP up to 8 MB, or MP4, MOV, or WebM.
- UniPost refreshes X's sign-in itself, so you don't need to reconnect X when it expires.

Pricing
UniPost has no plans. You pay per connected account. Your first 2 connected accounts are free. After that it's $3, $1, and $0.50 per account as you add more. An X account counts as one account. MCP, approvals, and unlimited teammates come with every account, including the free ones.
Free accounts include 500 agent tool calls a month. X posts also use X credits, covered above.
See pricingX MCP FAQ
- Can Claude post to X?
- Yes, once Claude is connected to an MCP server that can publish. With UniPost, Claude schedules the post, it stays pending until it's approved, and then it publishes at the time you set. Setup takes 4 steps. /agents/claude.
- Is this a Twitter MCP server?
- Yes. X is the new name for Twitter, and UniPost posts to X accounts through X's API.
- Can my agent post to X without me?
- Every post your agent schedules stays pending until it's approved. You can approve it in three ways: the approval link, the dashboard, or your agent. A teammate's agent can't approve posts your agent created, so ask your agent to show you the post first.
- How many X posts can my agent make?
- It depends on your X credits and the rate limits. Free accounts get 10 credits a month, a plain post uses 1, and a post with a link uses 13. Each X account can post up to 10 times an hour and 25 times a day. Ask your agent to run get_x_allowance to see what's left.
- Why does a post with a link cost more?
- X charges more for posts that contain a link, so a link post uses 13 credits instead of 1. Any link counts, including a bare domain like example.com.
- What does it cost?
- The first 2 are free, then $3, $1, and $0.50 each as you add more. Each connected X account is one account. There's no credit card for the free ones. See /pricing.
